Upload and parse

A diagram enters SolveGRC one of three ways: you upload a file, you generate one from a connected cloud account, or you parse a diagram that already sits in Documents. All three end in the same place: a topology of nodes, connections and zones that you review, correct and approve.

Upload a file

Upload Diagram on the Network Diagrams page takes a title and a VSDX, PDF, PNG or JPG file. Visio files are read natively; PDFs and images go through OCR and vision, which is where the AI comes in. Images must be smaller than 8000 by 8000 pixels; resize larger ones first.

A diagram uploaded here stands on its own. A diagram can also be parsed from a file already in Documents, from that document's Topology tab; it then stays attached to the document, and its evidence links survive even if the document is later removed.

Generate from cloud

Generate from Cloud builds living diagrams from a connected AWS, Azure or GCP account (connect one in Cloud Posture first): one infrastructure map per network, plus an access graph showing which identities can assume what. Resources are matched to your asset inventory, and infrastructure dependencies feed the business impact analysis.

Generated diagrams carry a Cloud sync or Access graph badge and the time of the last sync. Re-running the generation refreshes the diagram in place; if the topology changed since the last run, a Changed last sync badge shows how many nodes and connections were added or removed.

Parsing

Every diagram moves through pending, parsing, parsed and, once you sign it off, approved; a diagram that could not be read shows failed. The list filters on these, and the search box (press / to focus it) matches titles and filenames.

Parsing extracts the topology and scores its own confidence: green from 80%, amber from 60%, red below. Anything the AI produced is marked AI Generated - Beta on the diagram page and has to be reviewed before you approve it; see Review and edit.

A newly uploaded diagram that has not been parsed yet shows Parse Diagram on its Topology tab. Re-parse Diagram from the list's item menu resets a diagram to pending, clears its topology and runs parsing again, keeping the previous versions in its history.

Chunks

After parsing, the diagram is cut into chunks: one per node, connection, zone and path, plus an overview and the diagram source. These are what the AI assistant searches and cites when you ask it about your infrastructure, and what cross-diagram search runs over. The Chunks tab lists them with their type and confidence and when each was embedded; filter by type or search their text.

Deleting

Delete removes the diagram with its nodes, connections, control links, version history and embeddings. For a standalone diagram the uploaded file is deleted as well. Evidence already registered from an approved diagram is a separate record and is handled in the Evidence Locker.
